FLL Programs

SUMMER SCHEDULE FOR

CHALLENGE GROUP (9-16)

  • Week 1: Ice Breaker. Brief Intro to FLL and innovation project + Problem Statement

  • Week 2: Downloading Spike Prime from the app store (If you are on a tablet) and on the Microsoft Store (If you are on a laptop)

  • Week 3:  Scratch programming for the Challenge team on the robot. The team will form a group and will brainstorm their problem statement. This group will be the formal group for the innovation project

  • Week 4: Challenge will work on their problem statement. Each team will come up with valid problem statements and present them to the rest of the group.

  • Week 5: Challenge will work on their problem statement. They also will work on Impact, Cause and Effect, and Data. We provide them with Google Drive, to upload their research.

  • Week 6: Challenge will share their impact, problem statement, cause and effect, and data.

  • Week 7: We went through the fundamentals of spike programming, ensuring everyone had a solid understanding. Started coding for Mission #7: Hologram Performer, exploring new and exciting challenges. Completed the coding tasks and underwent a thorough review process.

  • Week 8: Worked on their spike coding skills as well as their problem-solving skills. They worked in teams to solve one difficult mission, Mission #8 on the 2023-24 Mat. January 15

SUMMER SCHEDULE FOR

EXPLORE GROUP (6-10)

  • Week 1: Ice Breaker. Brief Intro to FLL and Innovation Project + Problem Statement

  • Week 2: LEGO Building and FLL Innovation Project. block coding on Scratch Coding. All parents are requested to sign up their child for scratch ahead of time.

  • Week 3: Scratch programming on the website for the Explore team

  • Week 4: Form a group and brainstorm their problem statement. This group will be the formal group for the innovation project.

  • Week 5: making the sprite; character move in a certain direction including diagonally and how to loop it. We grouped people based on iPad/Computer availability. Every group programmed their character and presented it to the entire class.

  • Week 6: completed one of the tutorials and is now moving on to the Pong Game and Animate a Character.

  • Week 7:  Explore team had a test of the pong game and what code to put in the viewer.

  • Week 8: Worked on their spike coding skills as well as their problem-solving skills. They worked in teams to solve one difficult mission, Mission #8 on the 2023-24 Mat.
